"Deconstruction: The 4-in-1 Board Game"
This game poured from my soul after many years in grad school, and is my sarcastic tribute to academia. It contains four different games:
1) Academic Pictionary--a game that requires one to draw concepts such as "post-modernism" and "political economy."
2) Marginalized Scholar--based on "Old Maid," the card game, where players must match the pictures of dead white theorists without being stuck with the marginalized scholar card (a woman).
3) Create Your Own Abstract--where you must create from hundreds of academic buzzwords a fancy, but meaningless abstract.
4) Grad School Board Game--a game of chance in which the player must make it from the first day of course work to the dissertation defense all while avoiding incompletes and nervous breakdowns.
The rule book also contains an essay by me titled, "The Destabilization of a Fixed Identity and Epistomological Position--or--How Four Years of Grad School Ruined My Enjoyment of Life."
